Nichel Nicole Butler
Nichel Nicole Butler, 19, of Memphis, Tenn., died Aug. 2, 2009 at her home. Services
were held at 1 p.m. on Aug. 8 at Chulahoma MB Church in Holly Springs,
where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Ronnie
Franklin officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge
of arrangements. She leaves her mother, Deborah
Echols Isom of Memphis, Tenn.; her father, Ronald E. Butler of Capitol
Heights, Md.; her stepfather, John Isom of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters,
Jala Isom of Memphis, Tenn., Myia Boone of Washington, D.C.; a brother,
Dereck Butler of Memphis, Tenn.; a stepsister, Jalyah Isom of Olive
Branch; two stepbrothers, Johnathan Isom, Joseph Isom, both of Olive
Branch; her grandmothers, Jessie Mae Echols of Byhalia, Lorene Butler
of Capitol Heights, Md.; and her grandfather, Clayton Butler of
Atlanta, Ga. Pallbearers were Danny Echols,
cousin; Marvin Echols, Joseph Echols, uncles; Joseph Echols, Romondo
Gordon, cousin; and Vernon Butler, uncle. Billie Jean Crouch Billie Jean Crouch, 71, of Pontotoc, died Aug. 9, 2009 at her home. She was a Baptist. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 12 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery. She
leaves three sons, Roger Bridges Sr. of Potts Camp, J.D. Crouch of
Thaxton, James Crouch of Etta; three daughters, Nancy Bridges of
Pontotoc, Janice Phillips, Media Stewart, both of Randolph, Tx.; a
sister, Vada Gurthie of West Union; 24 grandchildren and 34
great-grandchildren. Alexis A’Byund Hampton
Alexis
A’Byund Hampton, 23, of Lamar, died Aug. 1, 2009 in Mt. Pleasant. She
was a member of the church choir, a 2004 graduate of Ashland High
School, a 2009 graduate of the University of Mississippi in Oxford with
a degree in accounting and a member of Zeta Phi Beta. She was employed
with the University of Mississippi ticket box office in Oxford. Services
were held at 12 noon on Aug. 5 at Sand Hill MB Church in Lamar, where
she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Etoy Bogard
officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements. She leaves her mother, Tammie
Hampton of Lamar; her father, Jerome Hoyle of Ashland; three brothers,
Keron Hampton of Lamar, Jakeya Long, Caleb Hoyle, both of Ashland; a
stepsister, Jacinda Allen of Lamar; grandmothers Lovie Cole of Lamar,
Alberta Hoyle of Ashland; and grandfathers, Charles Cole of Lamar,
James Hoyle of Ashland. Pallbearers were
Jarmarcus Sanders, Jarmaral Sanders and brothers of Phi Beta Sigma
Fraternity, Inc. Honorary pallbearers were James Hoyle Jr., Renoldo
Hoyle, Tarvarius Hoyle, Montrellis Cole, Eldson Hoyle, Patrick Hoyle
and Corinthian Cole. Ronle Benson Jones
Ronle
Benson Jones, 90, of Byhalia, died Aug. 3, 2009 at her home. She was a
church missionary, a church stewardess and a member of the Girl Scouts
and Willing Workers Club. Services were held at
12 noon on Aug. 8 at Newell Chapel CME Church in Victoria, where she
was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Charles Lesure
officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements. She leaves her husband, Lonza Lee
Jones Jr.; three daughters, Katie M. Jones-Kelly of Byhalia, Janie
Yarbrough of Chicago, Ill., Earnestine Jones of Memphis, Tenn.; four
sons, Lonza Jones III, Robert Jones, Frank Jones, all of Byhalia,
Emmitt Jones of Morristown, N.J.; two sisters, Nola Howard of
Blytheville, Ark., Irene Futtrell of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Felix
Benson of Memphis, Tenn.; 35 grandchildren 46 great-grandchildren and
six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three children, Ray Jones, Gordon Jones and Blanch Jones. Pallbearers
were Ventez Jones, Edlyn Jones, Antoine Kelly, Mario Jones, Thetis A.
Jones, Dwain Jones, Frank Jones Jr., and Samuel Mitchell. Honorary
pallbearers were Rev. Jesse Benson, Alonzo Jones III, Emmitt Jones,
minister Robert E. Jones, Frank Wesley Jones and Ray Jones Jr. Brian Keith Malone
Brian
Keith Malone, 52, of Bolivar, Tenn., died Aug. 9 at Jackson Madison
County General Hospital. He worked as an auto detailer at Bolivar Ford.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Aug. 12 at
Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial was in Bolivar Memorial
Cemetery. Mitch Puckett officiated. He leaves his
wife of 11 years, Melanie Hunsucker Malone; two stepsons, Billy Mason
Jr., Brian Mason, both of Michigan City; a sister, Shirley Eubanks of
Bolivar; and a brother, Mike Malone of Bolivar. The family requests memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society. Edgar Antonio Medrano Edgar Antonio Medrano, 16, of Byhalia, died Aug. 9, 2009 in Marshall County. He was Catholic. Services were held on Aug. 10. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He
leaves his parents, Epifanio Balanos Aguilar, Ignacia Medrano Aguilar
of Byhalia; and three brothers, Gustavo Medrano, Hugo Medrano, Jose
Medrano, all of Byhalia. Karl E. Thompson
Karl
E. Thompson, 69, of Holly Springs, formerly of Chicago, Ill., died July
31, 2009 at Alliance HealthCare System. He was a church usher, a Mason
and a retired painter for General Motors in Chicago. Services
were held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 7 at St. Matthews MB Church in Byhalia,
where he was a member. Burial was in Chulahoma MB Church Cemetery. Rev.
Kenneth Artison officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements. He leaves five daughters,
Ryan Thompson, Rachel Thompson, both of Holly Springs, Karla Thompson
of Westchester, Ill., Bridgett King of Memphis, Tenn., Lena Thompson of
New York, N.Y.; two sons, Dino Thompson of Dallas, Tx., Lawrence
Williams of Chicago, Ill.; four sisters and eight brothers. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Thompson. Pallbearers
were David Thompson, Jerome Thompson, Darryll Pitts, Lamar Gilbert,
Alex Thomspon, Ventez Brooks, James Thompson Jr. and David Thompson Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Raymond Thompson, Theodore Thompson, Franklin
Thompson, James Freedmond, Warren Thompson, Curtis Thompson and Julius
Thompson.
