• Open house Parents and the public are invited to an open house at the Benton County Vocational Center located at 25 Industrial Drive in Ashland to be held on August 13 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Meet the instructors and tour the metal trades, business technology, agri-science, and Allied Health program facilities.

• 4-h meeting Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will meet at the Marshall County Library at 6 p.m. New members welcome; age 8-18.

• Pastor and wife’s love day Free Branch MB Church, Aug. 13, 2 p.m. Pastor Roger Daniels and Antioch Church family will be guests.

• Revival The Mt. Sinai COGIC of Mt. Pleasant will be having a three-night revival beginning Wednesday, August 12 through Friday, August 14, 7 p.m. nightly. Guest speaker will be Elder Robert Kelly of Como. Everyone is invited. Pastor is Elder Curtis Pritchard Sr.

• General Membership Luncheon for the Byhalia Chamber of Commerce will be held at The Flame, Byhalia United Methodist Church, 2511 Church St., 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The luncheon is hosted by Northeast MS HealthCare, Byhalia Family Medical and the topic is “Celebrating 30 years of service to Byhalia area, providing quality preventive and primary health care.” No charge for members. Donations appreciated.

August 14

• Choir fest Postponed Youth and Young Adult Choir Fest has been postponed.

• Sounds of Summer sponsored by the Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce will be held 6-9 p.m. Fun for the entire family with street dance, cake walks, limbo contest, beach ball volleyball, water balloon toss, concessions, karaoke by Rockin’ Robert, door prizes and more. Bring your lawn chairs and dancing shoes.

• Auto Show sponsored by the Marshall County Republican Club will be held in historic downtown Byhalia. Registration 8 a.m.-noon. Judging will be 1-3:30 p.m., awards at 4 p.m. There will be door prizes and concessions.

• Community outreach program New Faith Outreach Ministries is sponsoring an outreach program, with free food, school supplies, entertainment and school uniforms. Evangelists, pastors, prophets and teachers on-site ministering. Pastor, Tracy Jeffries.
