Coach Keith Wicker used the word “fun” several times when talking about his Marshall Academy football Patriots.

Much of that excitement can be attributed to a new no-huddle offense installed in the spring.

Indians, Hawks working toward season openers

Byhalia and Holly Springs football teams took to the practice field Monday with a few weeks to work before season openers.

The Indians go to Booker T. Washington in Memphis Friday, Aug. 21, for a “Classic Game.” The Hawks host Lake Cormorant Friday, Aug. 28.

Class set for August 15 on hunter safety

A Hunter Safety Class will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Marshall County Fairgrounds on Highway 7 North.

It is scheduled from 8 a.m. until.

Participants must be 10 years of age and must bring a Social Security number.

Persons must register for the class by calling 662-563-6330.

NWTF banquet slated Aug. 15

The Tri-County Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will sponsor its 12th annual Heritage Banquet on Saturday, Aug. 15.

The banquet, to be held at the Oak Palace in Holly Springs, begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m.
