August 5

• Revival Free Branch M.B. Church hosts annual revival, August 5-7 at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Pastor Charles Gillespie of New Mt. Gilliam. Pastor is J.L. Tunstall.

• Hour of power Rising Star Church will have an “Hour of Power” worship service, at 7 p.m.

August 7

• Pizza party for all children in the community ages 3 – 11 will be held at the Victoria United Methodist Church on Friday, August 7, 7-8:30 p.m. This is for all the children in the community so come and have some good pizza and a movie and have a good time.

August 8

• MONTHLY SINGING Marianna Baptist Church hosts monthly singing with “Pickin’ up the Pieces” as featured group. Fellowship at 5 p.m. and singing at 6 p.m.

• Men’s Breakfast The Men’s Breakfast Group of Asbury United Methodist Church, Anderson Chapel United Methodist Church, Calvin Chapel United Methodist Church, Strawberry MB Church and Hopewell #1 MB Church invite you to its annual Black Male Scholarship Reception to be held in the Rust College Cafeteria on Saturday, August 8, 7, p.m. Refreshments are served after the program.

August 9

• Homecoming Harris Chapel MB Church, with pastor Dewitt Glover, will celebrate homecoming, Aug. 9, 2:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be pastor Willie Jeffries of Strawberry MB Church. Everyone is invited. The church is located on Hoover Rd. in Benton County.

• Homecoming Chulahoma MB Church will have their annual homecoming program on Sunday, August 9, at 11 a.m. Pastor Ronnie Franklin will deliver the message.

• Singing Friendship Baptist Church on Old Hernando Road will host The Inspired as the featured singing group. Sunday school starts at 9:45, morning worship is at 11 a.m. A fellowship potluck meal is at noon. Singing starts at 1 p.m. Bro. Justin Haynes invites all to attend.

• Missionary Day at Kimbrough Chapel Church, Aug. 9, 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Mark Bryson, with Liberty Baptist Church.

• Covered dish luncheon Red Banks United Methodist Church invites everyone to a covered dish luncheon and fellowship at noon, with singing by the Barnetts from Stanton, around 1 p.m.

• Early worship service Rising Star Church will have early morning worship, 8:30 a.m.

August 10

• spay/neuter CLinic The Marshall County Humane Society sponsored, low-cost spay/neuter clinic is open, 218 College St., Byhalia. Call 662-252-6196 for the necessary appointment.

• Revival Harris Chapel MB Church, with pastor Dewitt Glover, will celebrate homecoming, Aug. 10-12, 7 p.m. nightly. Guest speaker will be Rev. Dr. R.J. Wilson from Mt. Moriah MB Church. Everyone is invited. The church is located on Hoover Rd. in Benton County.

August 14

August 15

• Special day Ark of Safety Outreach Ministries, 4174 Hwy. 178, Red Banks, will have a day of “Harmony & Songs of Praise,” 6 p.m. Special guests will be Evon Wyatt, BKA, Song Bird of the North, and ex-back-up singer for Albertima Walker, and other groups. • ATTENTION: Calling all Alcornites (Alcorn State University graduates) to a meeting at the Marshall County Library, 109 East Gholson Ave., Holly Springs, 10 a.m. The purpose is to establish an Alcorn Alumni Chapter in Holly Springs.

• Choir fest Youth and Young Adult Choir Fest will be held at Pleasant Hill CME Church, 6:30 p.m. Several youth and young adult choirs will perform. Rev. Willie Hoey, pastor, invites everyone to attend.

• Hunter Safety Class will be held 8 a.m. until at the Marshall County Fairgrounds, Hwy. 7 North. You must be 10 years of age and bring your Social Security number. You must register for class at 662-563-6330.
