August 1

• Singing Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church, 1/2 mile south of Goodman Rd. on Cayce Rd. Featured singers will be the Williams Family. Sat., Aug. 1, 7 p.m. Everyone is welcomed.

• Benefit program Mt. Sinai COGIC of Mt. Pleasant will have a benefit program for Sister Curesa Pritchard, who has breast cancer, at 6 p.m. We are asking for participation from choirs and groups. Pastor, Elder Curtis Pritchard.

• Concert Antioch MB Church, located at 1306 Gardner Road, Victoria, under the leadership of Pastor Roger Daniel will be having a concert at 6 p.m. Featured guests will be White Hill MB Church choir of Tupelo, and the Christian Aires of Memphis, Tenn., along with other groups and soloists. Special speaker will be Johnny F. Twymon and the Blessed Hope M.B. Church of Cleveland, Ohio. The public is invited.

• YARD SALE Saturday, August 1 on the parking lot of CrossPointe Christian Fellowship from 7 a.m. until noon. The church is located at 6400 Blocker Street in Olive Branch, next to the Middle School. There will be many items for sale, including adult and children’s clothing, accessories and household items. The church’s Mn’M’s ladies group is conducting the sale. All proceeds will benefit the ladies ministry.

• School supplies The Gift of Life Counseling and Mentor Center will have a school supply giveaway, Aug. 1, 10 a.m. at the center, located at 21 Vinson Rd., Byhalia.

• The Dog Days of Summer Celebration will be held at the Multi-Purpose Building at 160 S. Memphis St., in Holly Springs, 4 p.m.-8 p.m. Tickets are $10. Call 662-544-0264, 662-564-1071 or e-mail www.dogsncats07@att.net.

• Fun fest Victoria Heights Baptist Church will host a Back-To-School Fun Fest, free for the community, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The event includes a moon bounce, huge inflated obstacle course, games, crafts, hot dogs, popcorn, and drinks. Free school supplies are available for up to 100 children. Plus every child in grades K-6th can enter a drawing for a chance to win one of six book bags filled with school supplies. The church is located on Victoria Road at U.S. Hwy. 78 (exit 18), in Victoria.

• Singing Chewalla Baptist Church, Aug. 1, featuring the Tracemen Quartet. Fellowship meal at 5:30, singing at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited.

August 2

• Homecoming Clear Creek Baptist Church, 1704 Clear Creek Rd., with speaker Joe Perkins from Alabama. Singers will be The Masters Quartet. Services, 11 a.m., followed by dinner.

• pre-anniversary program Mt. Sinai COGIC of Mt. Pleasant will have a pre-anniversary program for Pastor Curtis and Richenda Pritchard, 3 p.m. Special guests will be Elder Christopher Griggs and Faith Fellowship COGIC. Everyone is invited.

• Homecoming August 2, at Watson Community Church featuring N Him trio from Olive Branch. Come join us.

• Homecoming/Friend’s Day will be held at Pleasant Hill CME Church at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Kenneth Hardison and St. Matthews M.B. Church will be guest speaker and guests. Rev. Willie Hoey is pastor. Everyone is invited to attend.

• First anniversary Devine Reflection of Holly Springs, Sun., Aug. 2, 6 p.m. at Jones Grove Church, with pastor Rev. John Powell. • Ladies’ Ministry Meeting Watson Community Church, Hwy. 309, the first and third Mondays of each month, 9 a.m. with Sister Michelle Jarrell teaching. Coffee fellowship will be held after the meeting.

• Revival Clear Creek Baptist Church, 1704 Clear Creek Rd., Aug. 3-7, 7 p.m. nightly. Speaker will be David Shackelford.

• Revival Providence MB Church, 295 Withers Ave., Holly Springs, Aug. 3-7, 7 p.m. nightly. Guest speaker will be pastor Ronnie Franklin, with Chulahoma Church. Pastor Alonzo Johnson, first lady Patricia Johnson and the Providence Church family invite everyone.

August 4

• Student orientation Holly Springs Intermediate School will have a third grade/new student orientation Aug. 4, 2-3 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Come meet the principals, teachers, review the uniform policy, tour the school and visit the parent center.

August 5

• Revival Free Branch M.B. Church hosts annual revival, August 5-7 at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Pastor Charles Gillespie of New Mt. Gilliam. Pastor is J.L. Tunstall.

August 7

• Pizza party for all children in the community ages 3 – 11 will be held at the Victoria United Methodist Church on Friday August 7, 7-8:30 p.m. This is for all the children in the community so come and have some good pizza and a movie and have a good time.

August 8

• MONTHLY SINGING Marianna Baptist Church hosts monthly singing with “Pickin’ up the Pieces” as featured group. Fellowship at 5 p.m. and singing at 6 p.m.

August 9

• Homecoming Harris Chapel MB Church, with pastor Dewitt Glover, will celebrate homecoming, Aug. 9, 2:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be pastor Willie Jeffries of Strawberry MB Church. Everyone is invited. The church is located on Hoover Rd. in Benton County.

August 10

• ATTENTION: Calling all Alcornites (Alcorn State University graduates) to a meeting at the Marshall County Library, 109 East Gholson Ave., Holly Springs, 10 a.m. The purpose is to establish an Alcorn Alumni Chapter in Holly Springs.

• Choir fest Youth and Young Adult Choir Fest will be held at Pleasant Hill CME Church, 6:30 p.m. Several youth and young adult choirs will perform. Rev. Willie Hoey, pastor, invites everyone to attend.
