Hawks down Warriors twice By BARRY BURLESON Editor Coach Naylond Hayes had seen these slow-down tactics before – like in the 2006 state championship game versus Yazoo County. But

by Tavarus Hardy, the Holly Springs High School Hawks turned back
Senatobia 30-28 Tuesday night, Jan. 6, at home. Full Story

Byers girls number one The H.W. Byers Lady
Lions will likely be the number one team in the state, all
classifications, this week when the rankings are released. Coach
Jason Thompson’s undefeated team was second in the Clarion-Ledger’s
Super 10 last week. But number one Jackson Murrah lost over the weekend. Thompson said the top spot will add pressure and make his team even more of a target. “The bullseye will go from 10 inches to 10 miles,” Thompson said. “I’m proud of the girls. We’re blessed to be where we are.” The Lady Lions, defending Class 2A state champions, enter this week at 19-0.
