Boyle joins Audubon Center staff
Strawberry Plains Audubon Center announces that Katie Boyle has joined the staff in Holly Springs.
Boyle will oversee outreach and education programs. Developing better strategies for public communication on what the center does and has to offer will be a focus of her work. Education and habitat conservation programs of Audubon now focus on balancing conservation with increasing residential and commercial growth in the Coldwater River Watershed to preserve quality of life for all of us.
Boyle’s experience in connecting people with nature will be welcomed in the watershed work at Strawberry Plains. From work with AmeriCorps in Austin, Texas, to years of work in schools across the South Bronx, environmental education and a desire to help others discover the beauty and importance of the outdoors are her passions.
While working with the GreenApple Corps and the Student Conservation Association in New York City, she recruited interns and created ways for them to gain the skills necessary to secure employment in the environmental field.
“Her experience in environmental education and coordinating many community service projects will help Strawberry Plains contribute more to the community,” said Bubba Hubbard, center director.
