Willie Larry Beard Willie Larry Beard, 49, of
Michigan City, died July 5, 2009. He graduated from Westside High
School in Gary, Ind., where he resided during his early years. Later he
relocated to the Starns Family acres in Michigan City. He then
relocated to New Orleans, La., where he met his wife, Pamela Beard, and
then moved back to Mississippi. Services were
held at 12 noon on July 11 at Hebron Baptist Church in Lamar. Burial
was in the church cemetery. Rev. Algee Terry delivered the eulogy.
Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He
leaves his wife of 10 years, Pamela Bead; a son, Willie Larry Beard Jr.
of Michigan City; his mother, Betty J. Beard Sewell of Gary, Ind.; his
father, James Beard of Holly Springs; sisters, Shirley Beard of Gary,
Ind., Pamela Buchanan of Walls, Dianne Jones of Holly Springs, Nekeva
Harris; and brothers, James Beard Jr., David James Richmond of Aurora,
Ill., Andre’ Beard of St. Louis, Mo., Cedric Hunt of Miami Fla.,

Shirley
Jean Faulkner, 47, of Potts Camp, died July 6, 2009 at North
Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a member of St. Mark MB
Church and former store cashier with Shell convenience store in Byhalia. Services
were held at 12 noon on July 11 at Union Valley MB Church in Byhalia.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Patrick Bailey officiated. J.F.
Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. She
leaves a daughter, Angelia Faulkner of Potts Camp; three sons, Gregory
Faulkner, Maurice Faulkner, Jarvis Faulkner, all of Potts Camp; six
sisters, Mae King of Detroit, Mich., Evelyn Turnage, Patrica Warren,
Martha Brookins, Gladys King, Nora Sanderson, all of Holly Springs; and
a brother, Tommy Faulkner Jr. of Byhalia. She was preceded in death by brothers Sammie Faulkner and Roy Peterson. Pallbearers
were Earnest Sanderson, Kenneth Washington, Steven King, Jermaine
Faulkner, Marcus Faulkner and Scottie Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers
were Sylvester Turnage, Donald Warren, Stanley King and James Brookins. Liza Turnage Glover
Liza
Turnage Glover, 78, of Holly Springs, died June 28, 2009 at her home.
She was the widow of Simon Glover. She was a member of Mt. Teamer CME
Church, former choir president, missionary, stewardess, Sunday school
treasurer, devotion leader, member of the Heroines of Jericho Court #14. Services
were held at 11 a.m. on July 3 at Anderson Chapel CME Church in Holly
Springs. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Gwend Nelson
officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements. She leaves three daughters, Lexine
Smith, Linda Guy, Angela Jones, all of Olive Branch; five sons, Ira
Glover of Horn Lake, Leroy Glover Sr., Jimmy Glover, Larry Glover,
Willie Glover Sr., all of Holly Springs; 20 grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were O’Neil
Glover, Andre Guy, Jeremy Wilkins, Wesslie Glover, Walter Guy and
Nicholas Wilkins. Honorary pallbearers were Lee Roy Glover Sr., Jimmy
Glover, Larry Glover, Ira Glover and Willie Glover Sr. Annie Mae Pritchard Hill
Annie
Mae Pritchard Hill, 45, died July 6, 2009. She was the widow of David
Hill. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age at Moore’s
Temple. Later, she joined Mt. Sinai COGIC, where she remained a
faithful member and usher. Services were held
on July 11 at Mt. Zion Taska MB Church in Cayce. Burial was in Mt.
Sinai Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Pastor Curtis Pritchard gave the
eulogy. Rev. Keith Penilton officiated. She
leaves her children, Curtmarcel Smith, Curterra Pritchard, Curtrele
Pritchard, Kierra Pritchard, all of Red Banks; a stepdaughter, Danyell
Hill of Memphis, Tenn.; six sisters, Alberta Jones, Stella Smith, Joann
Eason, all of Red Banks, Diann Freeman of Holly Springs, Jannie Webb of
Barton, Azzie Lee Norman of South Carolina; and six brothers, Sammie
Smith of Detroit, Charles Reliford Jr., Archie Laaen Balfour, all of
Memphis, Tenn., Larry Smith of Detroit, Mich., Bobby Smith and David
Smith, both of Victoria. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dora Jones. Pennie Hunt Pennie Hunt, 58, of Holly Springs,
formerly of New Orleans, La., died July 13, 2009 at Alliance HealthCare
System in Holly Springs. She was a nurse. Holly Springs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She
leaves her husband, Bernnie Pizzia; a daughter, Jamie Laird of Hickory
Flat; two brothers, Gary Roche of Diamondhead, Steve Roche of Bay St.
Louis; and two grandchildren.
