| Police officers arrest three Holly Springs
police officers made three arrests last week, one for burglary and two
for embezzlement, and investigated a burglary and breaking and
entering, according to chief Robert Pearson. Arvell
Dukes, 22, and Courtney Bowen, 21, both of Holly Springs, were arrested
Wednesday, July 1, and charged with embezzlement, he said. Larry Mitchell Jr., 26, of Holly Springs was arrested Sunday, July 5, and charged with burglary of a dwelling, Pearson said. Officers
investigated a burglary in the 100 block of West Valley Street Monday,
June 29. Two amplifiers, six PS2 games, a hunting rifle and assorted
men’s clothes and shoes and a piggy bank containing $60 plus in change
were missing after the burglary. Officers
investigated a report of a breaking and entering in the 100 block of
Ford Street Wednesday, July 1. A back window of a residence was broken
but nothing found missing. Officers responded to
these additional activities for the week ending July 7 - driving while
license suspended (4); no driver’s license (6); no proof of insurance
(9); expired tag (2); improper equipment, (1); speeding (3); seatbelt
violation (5); child restraint (2); failure to yield right of way (1);
driving on the wrong side of the road (1); careless driving (2);
resisting arrest (1); disorderly conduct (3); public drunk (1);
possession of marijuana in motor vehicle (1); possession of
paraphernalia (1); DUI (4); shoplifting (1); discharge of firearm in
city limits (1); petit larceny (3); malicious mischief (3); simple
assault (1); and violation of city dog ordinance (2).
