OpinionFielder’s Choice On coast for convention I’m guessing it was my 20th Mississippi Press Association Summer Convention. Last weekend in Biloxi someone asked me, “How many?” I told them I think I’d missed a couple since my first in 1987. Then they asked, “Which one was your favorite?” Nowhere By Linda Jones Lack of AC is cruel Summer has arrived with a vengeance. After our cool, rainy spring the hot, dry heat is just not making me happy. Our oldest granddaughter commented recently that the sky was blue instead of gray and she was sick of rain. Then, she asked me if I felt the same. I had to say no -- I love rain, even when I complain about it, which isn’t often. The Preacher’s Corner VBS is an exciting few days for ‘our’ three churches Since last we met there has been a Vacation Bible School at our place, with the Methodists and Episcopalians joining forces to get the job done. I’m exhausted, and I really did not have hard work! Those who led the singing, supervised the play, prepared the refreshments, told the stories, made the crafts, cleaned up, and otherwise bore the heat of the day must be in bed recovering.
