| Fugitive arrested in Holly Springs The Holly
Springs Police Department, in conjunction with the Marshall County
Sheriff’s Office and the Oxford Police Department, arrested an armed
robbery suspect. Chief Robert Pearson said
Ralston Jannice, aka, Valentine Jannice, 40, of Oxford, was wanted for
armed robbery by the Oxford Police Department. Jannice
was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Monday, June 15, at the Magnolia Inn,
along with Silivia S. Cooper, 23, of Holly Springs, who was charged
with hindering prosecution by rendering criminal assistance, Pearson
said. Two individuals were arrested Tuesday,
June 9, and charged with possession of marijuana in the parking lot of
185 West Woodward Ave. Martez Balfour, 20, and Karnarvis Taylor, 22,
both of Holly Springs, were arrested and charged at the same time,
according to the police chief. Arrested Friday,
June 12, on charges of burglary of a commercial building was Erica
Jones, 21, of Holly Springs. Pearson said Jones was arrested and
charged with the burglary of New York Fashions which occurred May 28.
Numerous items, including jewelry, were recovered, he said. Officers
responded to these additional activities for the week ending June 16 -
driving while license suspended (1); no driver’s license (3); no proof
of insurance (6); seatbelt violation (4); expired tag, (1); possession
of controlled substance, (1); reckless driving (1); failure to yield to
blue lights, (1); disregard for traffic device, (3); domestic
violence/simple assault, (4); malicious mischief, (1); petit larceny,
(1); disorderly conduct, (2); and public drunk, (1). Reminder – June is the month to renew dog licenses at the police department.
