Ben Knoernschild won his second straight Killer Kudzu 5K Run May 29 in Holly Springs. He
finished seconds ahead of Brian Pope, who won five straight from 2002
to 2006. Knoernschild’s time was 16:07.3 and Pope’s 16:29.2. Full Story

yours truly it started to go bad when the last Williams sister left the
French Open. And it just kept sliding after that. Next came the defeat
of the Orlando Magic in the opening round of the NBA Championship. It
hit bottom when Calvin Borel failed to make good on his guarantee to
take the Belmont as his personal vindication – a personal Triple Crown
(jockey that is) on different mounts. Thanks, Calvin. So sure of your
prediction, I left it up to you and scheduled a family fishing trip to

Bolden named to All-MPSA team The
accolades keep
rolling in for Marshall
Academy’s
Hunter Bolden.
After a spring in which
he was named District 1-
AA most valuable player
and Mississippi Private
School Association All
Star, Bolden received word
that he has also been chosen
as first team All-
MPSA.
Only
13 players from all
classifications, A-AAA,
were selected with five
coming from AA schools.
Joining Bolden on the first
team from District 1-AA
was Garrett Radicioni

begun accepting applications
for the 2009 alligator hunting
season. There are hunting
opportunities on both public
waters and private lands. There are two public
waters zones open to limited
alligator hunting opportunities
– (1) Pearl River/Ross
Barnett Zone near Jackson
and (2) Pascagoula River
