| Killer Kudzu set for Friday downtown The Killer Kudzu runs through downtown Holly Springs this weekend. The challenging 5K run will be held Friday, May 29 in Holly Springs. There will also be a one-mile race. The Killer Kudzu Summer Sendoff, benefiting the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, begins on the courthouse square and takes runners past stately antebellum homes, towering native woods, graveyards dating back two centuries, and of course, kudzu. Pre-registration for the 5K is $15. Cost the day of the race is $18. Pre-registration for the one-mile is $10. Cost the day of the race is $15. Race day registration is from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The 5K race starts at 7 p.m. and the one-mile run at 8 p.m. The awards ceremony will be held at approximately 8:25 p.m. All runners will receive an original Killer Kudzu T-shirt. Door prizes will be given away following the race. The Killer Kudzu is sponsored by American Pacific. Register online at www.americanpac.com. |
