| City police arrest five By BARRY BURLESON Editor Holly Springs police officers made recent arrests for robbery, assault and rape. Chief Robert Pearson said Robert Lee Smith, 34, of Holly Springs, was arrested May 18 and charged with aggravated assault. Corey
Pritchard, 19, and Markus House, 18, of Holly Springs, were arrested
May 18 on charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault, he said. Pearson said Shunderric Hampton, 20, of Holly Springs, was arrested May 18 on charges of rape. Alvin Barksdale, 54, of Holly Springs, was arrested May 18 and charged with rape, he said. In
other police news, a resident reported property theft in the 150 block
of Rust Avenue May 19. Taken were an X-Box 360, Nintendo Wii and an
Acer Aspire laptop computer. A homeowner reported
the theft of property at his residence in the 400 block of West Sanders
Avenue Friday, May 22. A gray and black lawn mower was taken from the
carport. Officers responded to a burglary in the
100 block of West Valley Street on Sunday, May 24. Taken were a Sanyo
DVD player and Ryobi cordless drill. Officers
responded to the following activities last week – speeding, 2; driving
while license suspended, 1; no driver’s license, 4; no proof of
insurance, 3; possession of controlled substance, 1; possession of
paraphernalia, 1; careless driving, 1; expired tag, 1; disregard for
traffic device, 2; domestic violence/ simple assault, 2; malicious
mischief, 3; driving under the influence, 2.
