Hawks, Indians schedule spring football scrimmages
By BARRY BURLESON
High school football teams in Marshall County have been busy in spring training.
The Holly Springs High School Hawks will wrap up spring drills with a “Black and Gold Game” Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Sam Coopwood Park.
Everyone is invited to attend and get a preview of the next edition of the Hawks.
Head coach Clifford Brown said donations will be accepted to help with some equipment purchases, and concessions will also be available.
The Byhalia High School Indians will have a spring scrimmage on Tuesday, May 26, at 6 p.m. in the stadium on campus.
The scrimmage will showcase next season’s squad. Everyone is urged to come out and support the Indians, under the leadership of head coach Markeith Washington.
The Marshall Academy Patriots, led by head coach Keith Wicker, wrapped up spring practice Thursday of last week.
The South Reporter will have reports from all three spring football camps in the coming weeks.
And believe it or not, the new season kicks off in just three months.
Two other county schools will also soon be in the varsity football mix. Programs are in the beginning stages (junior high and junior varsity) at both H.W. Byers and Potts Camp.
