| Potts Camp, Byhalia elections June 2 By BARRY BURLESON Editor Municipal elections are less than two weeks away in both Potts Camp and Byhalia. Those general elections are set for Tuesday, June 2. Twelve candidates are seeking five at-large alderman seats in Potts Camp. Running
for aldermen are Joan Cox, Carol Jean Davis, Mary Houston, Wanda N.
Love, Herbert Luther, Deborah L. McCullough, Dollean Porter, Sabrina
Porter, Lela Reed Stevens, Robert Swinford, James (Johnny) C.
Westmoreland and Craig Work. Persons can vote for five candidates, and the top five vote-getters will be elected. Two candidates are seeking the mayor’s job in Potts Camp – Ricky Lesure and Casey Mayer. In Byhalia, there are six candidates for the five at-large alderman spots. Running
for aldermen are Ronny Blackburn, Daylon Cannon, Frederick “Rick” A.
DeBardeleben IV, Michael “Mike” E. Hamblin, Richard Sterling Minor and
Joe L. Tunstall. Persons can vote for five candidates, and the top five vote-getters will be elected. Phil Malone is running unopposed for mayor of Byhalia. Absentee
voting is available at both the Potts Camp and Byhalia town halls. Each
town hall will be open the next two Saturdays, May 23 and 30, from 8
a.m. to 12 noon for absentee voting. Saturday, May 30, is the final day
to vote absentee in person. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, with all voting at the town halls.
