| Police investigate burglaries The Holly Springs Police Department is investigating some recent burglaries. A
commercial burglary was reported in the 300 block of South Maury on
Tuesday, Dec. 30. A 27-inch Sanyo color television was stolen. An
auto burglary was reported on Highway 178 East on Tuesday, Dec. 30. The
owner stated he parked his 1997 Ford Ranger overnight and when he
returned the next morning, the following items had been take from the
vehicle – a Dell laptop computer, a .22 caliber magnum Marlin long
rifle and prescription medication. A residence
burglary was reported in the 180 block of West Woodward on Tuesday,
Dec. 23. The victim stated she returned home to find her apartment in
disarray and nothing was found missing. A
homeowner reported property theft at her her residence in the 800 block
of Hudsonville Road on Sunday, Jan. 4. Taken in the crime were a washer
and dryer and a 51-inch Hatachi television. An
attempted burglary was reported in the 500 block of Craft Street on
Friday, Jan. 2. The phone line on the east side of the business was
cut; however, no entry was made inside of the building. In
a separate incident, police chief Robert Pearson said Larry Derell
Campbell, 17, of Holly Springs was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 23, on
charges of armed robbery. Chief Pearson released
the following report for the week ending December 29 – no driver’s
licenses/expired driver’s license, 3; driving while license suspended,
5; no proof of insurance, 2; child restraint, 5; seatbelt violation, 6;
expired tag, 6; no tag, 1; disregard for traffic device, 2; improper
passing, 1; speeding, 10; public drunk, 1; disorderly conduct, 1;
malicious mischief, 4; domestic violence/simple assault, 3; false
information, 1; petit larceny, 1; telephone profanity, 2. Chief
Pearson released the following report for the week ending January 5 –
no driver’s license/expired driver’s license, 3; driving while license
suspended, 7; no proof of insurance, 5; child restraint, 4; seatbelt
violation, 10; expired tag, 14; disregard for traffic device, 4;
speeding, 2; malicious mischief, 1; resisting arrest, 1. Anyone
