Lady Cards win region

The Potts Camp Lady Cardinals outdistanced the closest competition by 18 points to claim the Region I-1A track championship April 25.

Coach Karen Green’s team finished with 137 points, ahead of second-place Myrtle’s 119, third-place Coldwater’s 97 and fourth-place Ashland’s 83.

The Potts Camp boys placed fourth – behind Biggersville, Myrtle and Coldwater.

The top four from each regional event moved on to the North Half meet.

Individual results from the Region 1-1A meet at Coldwater for Potts Camp athletes follow.

Boys 3200 meter run – fourth, Chad Randolph, 12:06.
Girls 100 meter dash – third, Shantae Sharp, 13.20.
Girls 4x200 meter relay – third, Potts Camp, 2:02.48.
Boys 1600 meter run – second, George Hampton, 5:16.98.
Girls 4x100 meter relay – fourth, Potts Camp, 58.28.
Girls 400 meter dash – first, Shantae Sharp, 1:02.15; second, Tenesha Woods, 1:05.10.
Boys 400 meter dash – third, Corey Totten, 56.26.
Girls 300 meter hurdles – first, Shantae Sharp, 55.25.
Girls 800 meter run – fourth, Hayley Davis, 3:02.61.
Boys 800 meter run – second, George Hampton, 2:19.02.
Girls 200 meter dash – second, Shantae Sharp, 27.30; third, Tenesha Woods, 28.13.
Boys 200 meter dash – second, Corey Totten, 24.22.
Girls long jump – third, Tenesha Woods, 15-07.25; fourth, Rashane Brown, 14-06.
Boys high jump – third, Terry Craine, 5-06.
Girls shot put – third, Jaleeza Reed, 29-01.
Girls discus – fourth, Jaleeza Reed, 70-04.
Boys triple jump – third, Terry Craine, 16-10.5; fourth, Larry Miller, 16-05.
Girls triple jump – second, Tenesha Woods, 31-00; third, Rashane Brown, 28-09.5.
