 | Handsome and smart!
Zeke
is a rare red border collie and a handsome guy! He is a smart one so he
could probably be taught some tricks quite easily. He gets along well
with other dogs and would be a great family pet. Call the Marshall
County Humane Society at 662-564-2900 for appointment to see him. See
Petfinder.com for a complete list of our animals for adoption. |

LeSueur of Washington, D.C., formerly of Holly Springs, visited
recently with Congressman Roger Wicker (D.Miss) in Wicker’s D.C.
office. LeSueur, a 1995 graduate of Rust College and employed with USA
Today in Arlington, Va., represents Rust College as a member of an
alumni group. Designated as landmark Sun., April 25, 50
members and friends gathered to commemorate the designation of the old
Hudsonville Presbyterian Church as a National Presbyterian Landmark. 25 Years Ago - May 3, 1984 Air Force honors Gen. Robert Bond in Ashland The
United States Air Force demonstrated its respect and gratitude for the
service of Lt. General Robert M. Bond Tuesday in Benton County when it
buried the three-star general with full military honors. He was laid to
rest in Ashland Cemetery with an honorary “missing man formation”
flyover in the deep blue skies. Full military honors were rendered in
the impressive ceremony. It has been categorically denied by Air Force
officials that the test plane Gen. Bond was flying was a Stealth bomber
or a Russian MIG. Officials would only say that it was a “modified”
aircraft. He was promoted to Lt. Gen. on June 1, 1981 and was vice
commander of Air Force Systems Command at Andrews Air Force Base. 50 Years Ago - April 30, 1959 Unveiling of historical marker The
unveiling of the historical marker on the original site of Belhaven
College was held Sat. morning during Pilgrimage. Founded here in 1883
as Maury Institute, in 1891 it became North MS Presbyterian College and
in 1903 Mississippi Synodical College. In 1939, it merged with Belhaven
College in Jackson and became co-educational in 1954. (The building is
now the Historical Museum.) Confederate Ball attendees Among
those attending the Confederate Ball last Friday night and escorting
Miss Arkansas, Sally Miller, were Billy Spencer, Joe Bill Smith, Dewitt
Christy and Rowan Thompson.
