Potts Camp sweeps first in district

Potts Camp’s boys and girls eased to district track championships Saturday at Coldwater – the Cardinals winning by 23 points and the Lady Cards by 20.

The Cardinals scored 77, well ahead of second-place Coldwater with 54. Taking third and fourth, respectively, were Ashland (42) and Strayhorn (31).

The Lady Cardinals tallied 81 points, easing them past Coldwater’s 61. Ashland followed with 45 and Strayhorn with 17.

The top four finishers in each district event move on to regional competition this Saturday at Coldwater.

100 meter dash – second, Corey Totten, 11.61; fourth, Larry Miller, 11.74.
200 meter dash – second, Corey Totten, 24.18; third, Larry Miller, 24.41.
400 meter dash – second, Corey Totten, 55.71.
