• School districts honor top students The
Marshall County School District and the Holly Springs School District
hosted an ACT Luncheon on March 24 at Annie’s Restaraunt to honor
students in grades 10-12 who had high ACT scores and who had
already received scholarship offers based on those scores. Jerry
Moore, instructional services director for the MCSD, spoke to students
prior to their meal – congratulating and thanking them for taking
advantage of the educational programs offered by the two school
districts. Dr. Germain McConnell,
associate dean of the School of Educaton at Ole Miss, closed the
luncheon with a motivational speech entitled “Never Be Satisfied,”
noting that “even if one has high ACT scores, this does not mean
they should squander learning opportunities.” Top honors went to Tess Hill and Sean Maness, both scoring a 30 on the ACT. The
MCSD and HSSD would like to thank these students
for their dedication to academics and Annie’s Restaraunt for
hosting the event.
