OpinionFielder’s Choice Prom stirs memories I had not been to a prom in 30 years. But I was told I had to go to this one, and actually I would not have missed it for anything else – including the Final Four on TV. I have worked in the tax collector’s office numerous years and have been honored to serve as your tax collector for the past six years. I have a great concern for Marshall County’s taxpayers and wish to inform the citizens about a problem. Travelin’ cowboy update - John Wayne is where... John Wayne Haynes As of... April 7, 2009 ~ Brenda Bragg talked to John this past weekend; she reports that John was in a snowstorm week before last. This week, the wind has been like a huge windstorm, he said. He was seven miles from the New Mexico border Saturday and exactly 200 miles from where he’s headed -- two more weeks to get there and everybody is doing good. Online update from Ashley, John’s daughter -- Just wanted to update everyone on how my Dad and the rest of the gang are doing...I talked to him last week and he’s in Texas. There was quite a bad snow storm heading his way but fortunately he found a very nice family who was going to let him stay there and wait out the bad weather. They’ll be back on the trail once the snow lets up. Thanks for everyone keeping him in your thoughts and prayers...it means so much. Mary Skelton talked to John Monday -- he’s in New Mexico!
