MA runners win ribbons
Marshall Academy hosted its first track meet of the season March 25, running events only.
The junior high boys took the championship trophy, while the varsity boys finished second.
Other schools participating included Magnolia Heights, Kirk, North Delta and Delta.
The junior high Patriots finished with 56 points, outdistancing second-place Magnolia Heights, 47; third-place Kirk, 35; and fourth-place North Delta, 24.
Top finishers for MA in the junior high boys competition included:
The Marshall varsity Patriots earned 39 points, finishing beind champion North Delta with 46. Magnolia Heights was third with 33 and Delta fourth with 22. Kirk had 17.
Top finishers for MA in the varsity boys competition were:
The Marshall junior high girls finished fifth with 17 points. Delta won with 46, then Magnolia Heights 34, Kirk 23 and North Delta 19.
Top finisher for the junior Lady Patriots included:
Callie Clanton won first place for the varsity girls in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.0.
