Chamber gala
next Tuesday; McMillan to be honored
The Holly Springs
Chamber of Commerce will host its Recognition Gala at Oak Palace on
Tuesday, March 31, at 6 p.m.
The
late Dr. W.A. McMillan, former president of Rust College who died March
14, will be recognized posthumously with the chamber’s first
Lifetime
Achievement Award.
The event will also
honor Holly Springs’
Community Champion, Small Business of the Year, Large Business of the
Year, Business Man of the Year and Business Woman of the Year.
Nominees for Community
Champion are George Kahrs, Lisa Liddy, Connie Mason, Carol Person and
George Poteet.
Nominees
for Small Business of the Year are American Pacific, Booker Hardware,
Holly Springs Motor Sports, Marshall County Historical Museum and
Marshall Industries.
Nominees for Large
Business of the Year are
Contract Fabricators, GEO/Marshall County Correctional,
Parker-Hannifin, Trinity Missions, Alliance HealthCare System.
Nominees for Business
Woman of the Year are Sheran Brown, Betty Burch/Irene Strickland and
Fannie Lampley.
Nominees for Business
Man of the Year are C.F. Brittenum, Al Singh and Dr. Kenneth Williams.
The public is invited to
attend the semi-formal celebration.
The
Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the sponsors,

a champagne toast to the Lifetime Achievement award winner.

Spruce up for
Pilgrimage; 5K added to activities
Everyone is reminded to
spruce up their yards and neighborhoods in preparation for the 71st
Annual Pilgrimage.
The Holly Springs Tour
of Historic Homes is set for April 17-19, and the city will be
welcoming lots of guests.
A new addition this year
is the Pilgrimage 5K Walk/Run at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 18.
Pilgrimage queens this
year are Olivia Childers and Lauren Poteet. Their escorts are Will
Thomas and Harris Gholson.
The newspaper will
