Two teenagers died Thursday afternoon, March 12, in a two-vehicle accident in Benton County.
Chadwick Duncan, 17, of Falkner, and Harley Fowler, 15, of Ashland, were killed when the car they were traveling in was involved in a crash with an 18-wheeler, according to a report in the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal.
The accident happened about 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 5 and U.S. Highway 72, according to Sgt. H.L. Kitchens with the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Kitchens said the car, driven by Duncan, was hit by the truck after pulling onto Highway 72 from a store parking lot, according to the press report. Both teens were ejected and pronounced dead on the scene. Neither were wearing seat belts.
