Murder case closed with guilty plea By SUE WATSON Anthony Earl Green pleaded guilty in Marshall County Circuit Court Friday to simple murder in the death of Tolbert Sholar and Reamus Williams. Police investigate robbery, make arrests The Holly Springs Police Department made six arrests for the week ending February 19 and investigated an armed robbery and auto burglary. Job fair succeeds, 48 employers participate Forty-eight employers and nearly 500 job seekers participated in the Marshall-Benton Job Fair at the Multi-Purpose Building on February 19. Two face burglary charges Two men from the Byhalia area have been charged with the burglary of a commercial building, according to Sheriff Kenny Dickerson. Gregory Scott Thomas, 21, and Matthew Davis Henthorn, 22, of 271 East Gaston Road in Byhalia were arrested and charged with breaking into a barn located on 306 East Gaston Road and taking a 4-wheeler and a red Snapper ground cruiser. Officers investigating the burglary said they followed tracks leading away from the barn to a residence, questioned one of the suspects and later were taken to a wooded area behind the residence where the vehicles were located. Officers recovered the property, made the arrests, then returned the vehicles to the owner. Both suspects are in jail awaiting bond to be set by Marshall County justice court, Dickerson said. |
