Registration is underway for another youth baseball and softball season in Marshall County.
The league, more than anything else, is about fun. And the league needs the parents’ help in accomplishing that goal.
Close to Nowhere
Sewing up a storm!
It’s certainly been an eventful week in my world.
Tuesday wasn’t a good day any way you looked at it. Pappaw passed away that morning and then the afternoon and early evening brought terrible storms.
Most of us in this area were very lucky. Some of us found debris from the Oxford area that wasn’t quite as lucky. Abbeville suffered a great deal also.
The Preacher’s Corner
If you can rearrange the kitchen without a quarrel...
Last Saturday there were so many cars parked around our church you would have thought it was a Presbyterian prayer meeting! Alas, our agenda was much more prosaic; it was a congregational work day. A dozen strong backs and willing hands from the congregation, as well as our ever-cheerful friend M.H. “Sugar Bear” Hampton, contributed “energy, intelligence, imagination, and love,” (that’s a favorite phrase from the ordination vows for our church officers), and the place was made to sparkle and shine.

Committees and sub-committees of the House of Representatives worked overtime this week to deal with hundreds of bills whose fate will soon be decided, as the 2008 session nears one-third complete.
