Close to Nowhere By Linda Jones Sewing up a storm! It’s certainly been an eventful week in my world. Tuesday
wasn’t a good day any way you looked at it. Pappaw passed away that
morning and then the afternoon and early evening brought terrible
storms. Most of us in this area were very lucky.
Some of us found debris from the Oxford area that wasn’t quite as
lucky. Abbeville suffered a great deal also. Full Story

our church you would have thought it was a Presbyterian prayer meeting!
Alas, our agenda was much more prosaic; it was a congregational work
day. A dozen strong backs and willing hands from the congregation, as
well as our ever-cheerful friend M.H. “Sugar Bear” Hampton, contributed
“energy, intelligence, imagination, and love,” (that’s a favorite
phrase from the ordination vows for our church officers), and the place
