Free-throw contest slated for Feb. 23 at Holy Family The
local council of the Knights of Columbus will stage its annual
free-throw championship for all boys and girls between the ages of 10
and 14. The event will be held on Saturday, Feb.
23, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family School Gym on West Street. All entrants
must have a valid Knights of Columbus entry form. Winners at the local level automatically qualify for the state championship. For additional information please contact Claude Vinson at 662-252-2567.

Byhalia youth registration Saturday Byhalia
Sports Association has provided recreational softball and baseball for
youth in the Byhalia area since 1993, serving approximately 200
children each year. Again this year the plan is
to play the majority of our games within the county. Registration for
spring and summer girls softball for ages 6-16 and baseball for youth
ages 3 through 15 will be held on Saturday, February 9, from 10 a.m.
until 3 p.m. at Byhalia Town Hall. A photocopy
of the child’s birth certificate and fee payment will be required.
Registration on this day is strongly encouraged. Your child will need
to be fitted for a uniform, so please bring them to registration. Practice
will start as soon as the weather and field conditions allow. If you
would like to serve as a member of the board of directors, coach a
team, umpire, sponsor a team or make a donation to the organization,
please contact any of the following board members: Doug or Janice Wagg
