County, city offices announce holiday closing
schedules
Marshall County’s offices, along
with its municipalities (Potts Camp, Holly Springs and Byhalia), announce
holiday closings.
County and city government offices will
be closed Thursday and Friday, Dec. 25-26, for Christmas holidays; and
Thursday and Friday, Jan. 1-2, 2009, for New Year’s holidays.
Early deadlines in place for next week’s
South Reporter
The South Reporter announces early deadlines
for its next edition due to the New Year’s Day holiday.
Deadline for legal notices and classified
advertising for the Thursday, Jan. 1, newspaper is this Friday, Dec.
26, at 12 noon. Deadline for news and all other advertising is this
Friday, Dec. 26, at 5 p.m.
The South Reporter office will close
Christmas Eve at 12 noon and remain closed Christmas Day. It will reopen
Friday, Dec. 26, at 8 a.m.
The newspaper office will close New Year’s
Eve at 12 noon and remain closed New Year’s Day. It will reopen
Friday, Jan. 2, at 8 a.m.

Holly Springs police arrest woman on assault
charge
Holly Springs Police Department officers
responded to a business burglar alarm in the 100 block of Market Street
on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
Upon arrival, officers observed the front
door glass cracked and damage to the door frame. No entry was gained
into the building.
Janet M. Robinson, 46, of Kansas City,
Mo., was arrested Saturday, Dec. 20, on domestic violence/aggravated
assault charges, according to police chief Robert Pearson. He said Robinson
is charged with allegedly cutting Will Thomas Phillip several times
in the face with a knife. Phillip was treated at Alliance HealthCare
System and released.
Officers responded to the following activity
last week – no driver’s license/expired driver’s license,
2; driving while license suspended, 3; no proof of insurance, 5; child
restraint, 2; seatbelt violation, 5; expired tag, 1; disregard for traffic
device, 1; no parking zone, 1; public drunk, 1.
