The H.W. Byers Lady Lions celebrated three straight Bi-County Tournament crowns Saturday, while the Byhalia Indians claimed their second consecutive title.
First consolation game
The Potts Camp Lady Cardinals outpointed the Hickory Flat Lady Rebels 21-8 in the first quarter Saturday afternoon and led 44-27 at halftime.
Behind The Scoreboard
It all played out Saturday afternoon in the Georgia Dome. The number one and number two teams in the nation and also the SEC met in a decisive battle to not only determine the SEC champion for ’08 but also the first team that would be above the radar of the BCS computers. This was a first in NCAA history that the first two teams in a conference and the first two teams in the nation would meet in a conference championship. Do I really need to say “only in the SEC?”
