Karen Green’s outstanding leadership in Marshall County and beyond has resulted in national recognition. The
Potts Camp teacher, coach and athletic director is being honored with a
State Award of Merit by the National Interscholastic Athletic
Administrators Association (NIAAA). Her name will be published in the
banquet booklet during the NIAAA Conference at San Diego, Calif., in
December. She will receive her award during the Mississippi Athletic
Administrators Association (MAAA) Conference January 15-16, 2009, in

Bi-County time • Lady Lions, Indians look to defend crowns The fifth annual Bi-County Basketball Tournament tips off this week at Ashland High School. Boys and girls teams from Marshall and Benton counties will be competing for the coveted crowns. Schools participating include Ashland, Byhalia, H.W. Hawks knock off 5A Eagles By BARRY BURLESON Editor The Holly Springs High School Hawks picked up a big win over Class 5A Horn Lake prior to the Thanksgiving recess. Coach Naylond Hayes’ Class 3A team traveled to DeSoto County Monday night, Nov. 24, and knocked off the Eagles 63-62. Full Story
Potts Camp, Byers back in action this week Potts Camp and H.W. Byers basketball teams took a break from playing games during Thanksgiving week. The
Cardinals and Lady Cardinals visited Lewisburg Tuesday of this week.
They play in the Bi-County Tournament Thursday-Saturday at Ashland. The Lions and Lady Lions return to action in the Bi-County.

Michael Neal took his Byhalia Indians on a long road trip during
Thanksgiving break and came up short versus two of Missouri’s best. The
Indians lost 77-70 to Scott County Central Friday and 61-55 to Pacific
Saturday. They were competing in the Riverbend Classic at New Madrid,
