• Byhalia unveils 20-year plan

Staff Writer The Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce held its top
celebration of the year in November, selecting three for outstanding
leadership and presenting the city’s 20-year plan to a crowd estimated

IDA
seeks funds for sewer work

The Marshall County Industrial
Development Authority is short between $600,000 and $700,000 in funds
to complete the construction of a proposed sewer project.
The project will provide service to residents
of two old mobile home parks and small subdivisions near Cayce Road
and Highway 72, according to Del Stover with the county IDA. The project
will also serve six commercial establishments. Full Story
Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy Celebrity Hunt By SUE WATSON Staff Writer Quail hunting was at its best at the Celebrity Campionship Hunt in November at Fitch Farms/Galena Plantation. A
group of over 40 businessmen, elected officials and a few celebrities,
including Tom Lester of the comedy series “Green Acres,” were guests

Stratmon honored on Veterans Day Dr. David L.
Stratmon Sr. was among the World War II veterans honored by the Ida B.
Wells Museum on Veterans Day, November 11, at the Eddie L. Smith
Multi-Purpose Building. Dr. Stratmon received a proclamation which was
signed by Rev. Leona Harris, curator of the museum, and Joseph Ford,
commander of American Legion Post #250.
