MA snatches wins in neighboring state By BARRY BURLESON Editor Friday’s long road trip to Arkansas proved to be well worth the ride for the Marshall Academy Lady Patriots and Patriots. The
MA girls trailed by 10 points in the fourth quarter and rallied to beat
Marvell. The MA boys turned a two-point halftime lead into a 29-point
win. Traci Rodgers nailed a three-pointer with 16
seconds left to give the Lady Patriots their first lead. Emily Burk
added two free throws with seven ticks to go, and Marshall shocked the

Byers girls, Hawks get wins By CLAUDE VINSON Sports Editor The
start was a bit slow for both teams in this intra-county matchup which
always draws a large contingent of fans from both sides. The host
Lady Hawks got the tip in the November 20 contest, but the Lady Lions
got the first basket on a stick-back by Symone Gorman. Points were not

Friday night, while the boys had some shooting and rebounding woes in

exploded for a 24-7 first-quarter lead over the Lady Troopers and went
