News BriefsVeterans Traveling Tribute coming to Holly Springs The Collins-Hurdle VFW Post #5697 and the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce are bringing a monumental event to the City of Holly Springs. The VFW and the chamber will host the American Veterans Traveling Tribute on the Holly Springs courthouse square November 26-December 1. It will include an 80 percent replica of the Vietnam Veterans’ Wall and six accompanying patriotic exhibits. Marshall County citizens will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pay tribute and respect, joining together with the common bond of experience and patriotic gratitude, as they stand before the 80 percent replica of the Big Black Wall to touch the names of our fallen heroes of Vietnam. While the replica is the centerpiece, friends, neighbors and hometown heroes will be equally moved by the entire Cost of Freedom displays honoring those who have given their lives in service to their country post-Vietnam, as well as the stunning 911 lighted memorials. Thousands of tourists are also expected to visit Holly Springs to view the wall and pay respect to those who have served. Tax-deductible donations are being accepted to help with this effort. For more information on the American Veterans Traveling Tribute, call 662-252-2943. Interested persons can also visit the traveling tribute’s website – www.avtt.org.
