| Mt. Pleasant makes playoffs Both Mt. Pleasant football squads fought to maintain the status of undefeated as they traveled to Oxford on Saturday, Nov. 1. The peewee Lions won after a double overtime with a score of 14-8 against the Oxford Tigers to finish the season ranked number 1 in their division. The bantam squad lost a heartbreaker, 22-20 against the Oxford Tigers, to finish the season ranked number two in the Mississippi Youth Football and Cheer League Bantam Division. The cheerleaders along with fans and supporters kept the teams encouraged as they battled to earn their spots in the playoffs. On Saturday, Nov. 8, the Mt. Pleasant Lions will travel back to Oxford to participate in the playoffs. The peewee team will play against the Oxford Tigers (number 4) with the hopes of bringing the championship game scheduled for November 15 back to Marshall County. The bantam squad will play against the Water Valley Titans (number 3) with the hopes of playing for the championship trophy on November 15. The teams and cheerleaders would like to give a special thanks to all of the fans who have traveled to support the Mt. Pleasant Lions, and they ask for that strong support once again this Saturday, Nov. 8, as they travel back to Oxford. It is not too late to become a sponsor for 2008-09 season.
