OpinionFielder’s Choice Aim high I was a bit awe-struck Thursday. That’s because I was sitting at the table with a couple of celebrities – Susan L. Taylor and Samir Husni. As I write this on Tuesday, around noon, I have no idea who our next President will be -- although all the national news networks would have us believe that they know and just aren’t telling us at this point. The Preacher’s Corner Getting rid of some old magazines Every now and then I am shamed into doing what I need to do. Such a moment came when I ran across a cartoon — I think it was in the New Yorker. It pictured a man and woman in bed, covered with National Geographics. The ceiling has collapsed and hundreds of the magazines had spilled through onto the surprised couple. The indignant wife says to the husband, “You and your National Geographics!” Hometown Heroes Please take time to remember our local “heroes” who are serving in war zones around the world.
