October 30

• MEETING The Marshall County Democratic Executive Committee meeting will be held at the MC courtroom B, 6 p.m. All Democratic elected officials and registered Democrats are welcome to attend.

October 31

• “A Community Affair” Harvest Festival Fun with the Children’s Super Church of Friendship Assembly of God. The fun-filled night begins at 6 p.m. with inflatables, games, hayrides, good eats and much, much more. Be here to be a part of this incredible night. Admission is one bag of candy per child.

• FALL CARNIVAL H.W. Byers PTA will have its Fall Carnival at the school, 12 noon-2:30 p.m. We encourage all parents to come out and see our school.

• Honoring service Christ Temple COGIC, Oct. 31, 7:30 p.m. with special guest Elder Gunnette Joyner and Spirit of Life COGIC, Byhalia.

• Halloween Holly Springs Health and Rehab Trinity Mission will be celebrating Halloween on Friday. Trick-or-treaters are invited to come by from 6-9 p.m. for candy and to show their costumes to the residents.

• Halloween dance, Jazzy’s Dance Studio, old Autozone building, Oct. 31, 3-7 p.m. ages 3-12 years.

November 1

• Benefit program St. Mark MB Church is sponsoring a benefit program for Bro. Terry Kilpatrick, Sat., Nov. 1, 6 p.m. at St. Mark Church. All groups and choirs are invited to attend.

• Yard sale Hopewell #1 MB Church is having a yard sale on the church parking lot of Hopewell #1, 365 Bonner Street, Holly Springs, on Saturday, November 1, 8 a.m. until 12 noon, with a cake walk at 10 a.m. Come and get some great deals on some nice items. • One more night! The Dungeon Haunted House, at Wall Doxey State Park, by popular demand, will be open one more night, Sat., Nov. 1, 7:30-10 p.m. Sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 43. The $3 admission fee helps pay for the troops to go to summer camp.

• Singing Chewalla Baptist Church, Sat., Nov. 1, 7 p.m., with the Barnetts. Fellowship will be at 6 p.m.

• Fall carnival Holly Springs Intermediate School fall carnival has been postponed until Sat., Nov. 1, 1-6 p.m. in the gym. Food, games, pictures and raffle. Admission at the door is $2. Additional fees for food, games, etc.

• Class meeting The W.T. Sims Class of 1967 Club will meet Nov. 1, 5 p.m. at Pizza Hut. Important, please attend. James Alford is chairman.

• Anniversary service Pastor and wife’s anniversary service at Christ Temple COGIC with special guest Jeremiah Penro and Emmanuel COGIC of Tupelo. Sun., Nov. 2, 3 p.m.

• Harvest day Pleasant Hill CME Church, Hwy. 72, will have a Harvest Day program, 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Melvin Fitzpatrick and New Stinson Community Church as guests. Rev. Willie Hoey is pastor. Everyone is invited.

• Homecoming at Holly Hill Baptist Church, Sun., Nov. 2. Sunday school starts at 9:30 a.m. Bro. Lavon Boatner will be preaching at the 11 a.m. service. The Master’s Quartet will be the featured singers. Lunch will be served in the fellowship building at noon. Pastor Frank Feathers and members invite everyone to attend.

• Day of prayer Hopewell No. 1 MB Church will host their Baptist World Day of Prayer, Mon., Nov. 3, 6 p.m., 365 N. Bonner St., Holly Springs. Everyone is invited.

November 4

• Free program The Friends of the Marshall County Library will host a free program for the public on Nov. 4, Election Day, at 12 noon. Presenters will be attorneys from the North Mississippi Rural Legal Services Bureau, and they will give information on “Living Trusts” and “Powers of Attorney.” Free refreshments, free legal advice, and lots of good company. You don’t have to be a member of the Friends of the Library to attend. For more info., please call the Marshall County Library at 252-3823.

• “THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE POETRY LOUNGE” will be presented at Galena School, featuring the literary work of Langston Hughes with music from the 1920s jazz legends. Nov. 4. November 6

• Fall festival/health screening Nov. 8, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Greenfield Presbyterian Church, 5024 Old Hwy. 7 S. Games, homemade chili, soup, cakes, pies, fish plates and sandwiches, along with other goodies for sale. Please come out and support us on this fun day.
