Kudzu Festival this week in downtown Holly Springs
The Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Kudzu Festival in downtown Holly Springs this week, October 22-25.
It will include a carnival, crafts, barbecue, 5K run, entertainment and more.
PBJ Happee Day Shows will provide rides, carnival games with prizes and everyone’s favorite carnival foods.
Local crafts people are invited and encouraged to show off their talents, along with arts and crafts vendors from several other states. For those who enjoy cooking, there will be a Kansas City Barbecue sanctioned competition. Athletes can participate in the 5K run on Saturday morning, sponsored by American Pacific/Design the Space.
The festival will feature a variety of entertainment. Braden Gray & Loose Gravel, from northeast Mississippi, are slated as the headline entertainment Saturday, Oct. 25. The lead singer and band have been playing at fairs, festivals and events together since May of 2007 all over the Mid-South. They play modern country music from artists such as Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson and Travis Tritt and their growing list of originals.
The Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce and the VFW are raffling a motor scooter with proceeds helping to bring the Veterans Memorial Wall to Holly Springs in November.
Tickets, $20 each, are available from chamber board members or any VFW member. Only 500 will be sold. The lucky winner will be drawn at 10 p.m. on Saturday at the Kudzu Festival.
