The Marshall Academy soccer team recently wrapped up a record-breaking season. The Lady Patriots lost 4-0 at Heritage Academy October 6 in the opening round of the Division II state soccer playoffs. MA finished 5-7 overall and earned a post-season berth for the first time in the four-year history of the program. “I
was extremely pleased with our team this season,” coach Catherine
Mirante said. “This truly is a fantastic group of girls and, as I told
them, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire season. “They
know how to work hard, but they also know how to have fun. Their
laughter was a bright spot in my day every time I was with them. We
ended the season with the best record in MA history and an inaugural
playoff bid. Who knows what next year might hold?” Seniors on this year’s squad are Emma Burleson, Molly West, Anna Petree, Hannah Hamblin, Olivia Clanton and Kim Cunningham. Mirante
also announced the All North Division players for the Lady Pats –
Kristin Mynatt, Molly West, Sara Walker and Amanda Rhea.
