OpinionFielder’s Choice Main Street I’ve been watching for my weekly edition of The Carthaginian the past few weeks. Not that I don’t always eagerly await its arrival, but some of its stories are hitting a bit closer to home these days. Close to Nowhere Let’s “not” talk politics! • There is a long established rule at my house -- when both my brothers are there, no politics! One is a die-hard Republican. The Preacher’s Corner All of us need to reach out “No brakes!” I’ll never forget my mother’s shriek as we drove south on Main Street in Cleveland, Miss. Our 1961 beige Buick LeSabre was a wonderful car, the first we’d had with power steering, power brakes, air-conditioning, a push-button AM radio — all the features that made the ’60s an era when big cars and super-highways were before us! It ran like a top, except for that day. Letters to the Editor How he really died: “The True Story of the Death of the Rev. Joseph Holt Ingraham” For the third time in two years, the untrue story of the circumstances surrounding the death of my late predecessor, Dr. Joseph Holt Ingram, has been published in this newspaper.Due South Ally thoughtfully pinned list of chores...
