 | K-9 School Graduates
The
K-9 Search One canine obedience course celebrated graduation day with
exercises and skill contests held October 4 at the Holly Springs Fire
Department. Shirley Byers and Magic took Top Dog honors with high
scores on the Course of Doom and the serpentine exercise, a
maneuverability challenge. Karen Clinton Huff and Lily also earned
first place in two events — the longest down-stay and the fastest sit —
while Penny Risner and Mr. Echo demonstrated their skill with a win in
the sit-stay with distractions. Dave Huff and Zeke earned honorable
mention with tight second-place finishes in two events, and Janice
Robertson with Heidi won applause as the “most-improved” dog
overall.The class will be offered to the public again in the spring.
