• MI Information meeting Rust College cordially invites community leaders, elected officials, Mississippi Industrial (M.I.) • PRAYER BREAKFAST Golden Stars will have a prayer breakfast at Strawberry MB Church, 9 a.m. The public is invited.

• HEALTH FAIR Isaac Chapel Church of Byhalia will have a health fair, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Come and get your health checked out.

• HARVEST FESTIVAL First Southern Baptist Church at Victoria invites everyone to their annual Harvest Festival for games, food, and a hayride beginning at 5 p.m. For more info., call 662-838-3621.

• Auction Emory Independent Methodist Church will hold an auction on Oct. 18 with a spaghetti dinner and silent auction from 5-7 p.m. The live auction will begin at 7:30. Dinner will be $10 for adults and $5 for children. The proceeds will go to the 2009 Mission Trip. Emory Independent Methodist Church is located seven miles south of Byhalia at 872 Watson Road.

• Gospel fall festival, Kimbrough Chapel Church, pastor J.W. Smith Jr. 10 a.m. until.

• Singing Clear Creek Baptist Church will have a gospel singing featuring The Barnetts from Stanton, Tenn. Fellowship at 6 p.m. and singing at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited.

• SINGING Gospel singing will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church, Hwy. 309 North, Byhalia, at 6:30 p.m. The One Way Quartet from Ethel will be special guests. Wade Crum, pastor, invites everyone.

• SPAGHETTI SUPPER The Slayden-Mt. Pleasant-Early Grove Fire Department will be having a spaghetti supper, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the fire station. The supper consists of spaghetti, cole slaw, garlic bread, tea, and a dessert. The fire station is located at 194 Mt. Pleasant Road. Please come and support your fire department.

• Fund-raiser Fish fry, live music and raffle. Wyatte/Chulahoma Fire Dept., Oct. 18, 5 p.m. Plates, $8.

• Fall sale, Sat., 8 a.m.-12 noon, behind St. Joseph Church. Gigantic sale, includes books for all ages, furn., toys, dishes, children’s items, bedding and much more. • Meeting date change The Edward Cary Walthall Chapter # 290 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will hold their monthly meeting, Sat., Oct. 18, 10 a.m. at the library. We invite all ladies who are interested in Confederate history to attend. Please note: this is a change of day.

October 19

• Anniversary celebration, First Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant, Pastor Don LaBelle. Bible study, 9:45 a.m., worship at 10:50. Food and fellowship after worship, singing will follow. Children’s activities are planned. Non-members are cordially welcomed as our guests. No evening service this date.

• ASSOCIATE MINISTERS will conduct Thursday night services at Mt. Moriah MB Church, 3193 Marianna Road, 7 p.m. Everyone is invited.

• Third Annual Deer Creek Haunted Trail, 463 Deer Creek Rd, one mile off of Cayce Rd., will be open October 23, 24, 25, 30, 31 and November 1. All night trails are nightfall until midnight except for October 23 and 30 which are nightfall until 10 p.m. Admission: $5 per person. Group rate special: $18 for four people. All proceeds benefit Boy Scouts and the Byhalia Pom Pom Squad. Concessions will be sold at the trail. Donations of materials and supplies are greatly appreciated.

• Career Day for Friendship Christian Academy with Trey Manning, Commander of Aviation with DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department, bringing the helicopter out to expound on the topic of aviation at 9 a.m. Home school students are welcome to attend.

• Master magician First Baptist Church of Holly Springs will present Master Magician Scott Humston Oct. 24-26. Friday and Saturday’s programs will begin at 7 p.m. and there will be Sunday programs at the 10:15 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. The community is invited to come experience one of the world’s great Christian entertainers.

• The Dungeon Haunted House at Wall Doxey State Park is being brought to you by Boy Scout Troop 43 again this year, Fri., Oct. 24 and Sat., Oct. 25, 7-10 p.m. $3 admission. • Program The Ministerial Alliance of the HSMC Baptist Association, with president Rev. Leroy James, would like to announce a Young Ministers Gospel Explosion Program on Sat., October 25 starting at 7 p.m. at Mt. Moriah MB Church located at 3193 Marianna Road in Holly Springs. Rev. Dr. R.J. Wilson is the pastor. Featuring Minister Nathaniel Johnson Jr., lecturer for the night and Minister Ben Norman, speaker. Come out and join us for an enjoyable evening.
