Junior Patriots stay unbeaten
Chase Ferrell and Neil Murphy combined for 130 yards rushing as the Marshall Academy junior high football team improved to 4-0 last week.
MA cruised past Lee Academy (Ark.) 24-8 at Patriot Field.
Ferrell carried five times for 70 yards and Murphy seven for 60.
Ferrell also scored two touchdowns on runs of 1 and 5 yards in the first quarter.
Adding second-quarter touchdowns were Trey Johnson on a 2-yard carry and Murphy on a 15-yard run.
All extra-point attempts failed – three tries for two and one kick.
MA was one of five passing for 22 yards.
Recovering fumbles for the Patriots were Dustin Allen, Clay Casey and Josh Petree.
Also, Jake Hurdle blocked a Lee (Ark.) punt.
The unbeaten Marshall junior high team travels to Tupelo this Thursday to face Tupelo Christian. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. The Patriots play at home October 2.
