Hawks no match for Chargers

It was a tough night at Sam Coopwood Park for the Holly Springs High School Hawks.

The Class 3A squad dropped its home opener 50-7 to Class 5A Southaven.

“We couldn’t do anything right,” said coach Clifford Brown, whose Hawks went to 1-2 before starting district play this week. “It was a bad game. We couldn’t execute. We couldn’t block. We couldn’t tackle. We couldn’t coach.”

Lady Pats knock off Bayou

Coach Catherine Mirante liked the fight in her Marshall Academy soccer team September 9.

The result was a 2-1 conference win over Bayou Academy. The Lady Patriots improved to 3-2 on the season.
