Hawks dominate Blue Devils By CLAUDE VINSON Sports Editor Coach Clifford Brown and his Holly High Hawks probably are still dancing on air. They
went into Water Valley last Friday night and almost perfectly executed
their game plan. The Blue Devils, once a most formidable foe in the 3A
ranks, now play in 2A but still have a colorful history which includes
two divisional and one state championship. That did not seem to matter
to the high-flying Hawks who were there to win. Full Story

Nunnery gets hole-in-one on Kirkwood National course Martin
Nunnery of Tupelo aced the Par 3, #15 hole (114 yards) at Kirkwood
National on August 31. He used his 56 degree sand wedge. The hole-in-one at Kirkwood was witnessed by Troy Duncan, Shane Cook and Josh Hutchins, also of Tupelo.
Bull-A-Rama Sept. 20 at Northwest arena Professional
cowboys and student athletes will put their skills on the line when
they climb on board some of the toughest bucking bulls in the industry
when the Ross Motor Company Bull-A-Rama gets underway Saturday, Sept.
20, at the Northwest Mississippi Community College Multipurpose
Livestock Arena. These athletes will be hoping for a successful ride

Coach sees progress in Byhalia loss By BARRY BURLESON Editor Coach Markeith Washington is preaching patience with his young Byhalia football team. The
young 3A Indians, playing another 5A team in week two of the season,
lost 42-0 Friday night at DeSoto Central. They fell 33-6 to Horn Lake

Galena Plantation hosts Fun Shoot Shotgunners,
sporting dog fans, and an audience of observers gathered Saturday
morning, Aug. 16, at the Galena Plantation near Holly Springs. The
occasion was the first annual Fun Shoot hosted by the Bird Dog
Foundation, the non-profit organization which operates the National
Bird Dog Museum in Grand Junction, Tenn. The day was made possible by
W. O. “Bill” Fitch and his wife, Joan, through the loan of their Galena
Plantation shooting venue and lovely lodge. Full Story
