Jr. Pats whip Chiefs

The Marshall Academy junior high football team had no trouble with Magnolia Heights Thursday at home.
The Patriots dominated the Chiefs 40-14 and rolled up 334 total yards in the process. MA improved to 2-0.
Elgin Lafever scored three touchdowns - two receiving and one rushing. He also added a two-point conversion.
Neil Murphy ran for two touchdowns and he, too, added a two-point conversion.
Trey Johson ran for the Patriots’ other touchdown.
Marshall built a commanding 34-8 halftime lead, and the second half was played with a non-stop clock.
For the game, Murphy had 106 yards rushing on seven carries. Quarterback Chase Ferrell ran 11 times for 90 yards. He was three of four passing for 75 yards. Lafever caught all three of the completions.
MA rushed for 259 yards.
The Patriots will host Carroll Academy this Thursday night. Game-time is 7 p.m.
