MA to honor former queens during homecoming activities

Marshall Academy’s 39th homecoming festivities are set for Friday, Oct. 10, and a special event this year will include the recognition of all former homecoming queens.

A reception will be held in the MA cafeteria at 6 p.m., and the former queens will be honored beginning at 7 p.m. at Patriot Field.

The itinerary for the evening of October 10 will be as follows:

• 6 p.m. – reception for queens and families in the MA cafeteria

• 7 p.m. - pre-game presentation of former queens and recognition of former MA football players

• 7:30 p.m. – kick-off, Marshall Academy vs. West Memphis Christian School

• Halftime – crowning of 2008 MA homecoming queen

The recognition of the former queens is also in honor of the 40th year of the Mississippi Private School Association.

Foundation scholarships

These students will be receiving scholarships from the Northwest Community College Foundation for the 2008-2009 academic year. This year 330 students will receive Foundation scholarships for a total of $250,000.
