Thomas Wayne Davis
Thomas
Wayne Davis, 68, of New Albant, died Aug. 30, 2008 at his home. He was
formerly employed with Cooper Truck Lines in Holly Springs. He was an
Army veteran.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on
Sept. 1 at Faith Assembly of God Church in Myrtle, where he was a
member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro. T.M. Wiginton
officiated. Serenity Funeral Home of New Albany was in charge of
arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Shirley Thomas
Davis; two sons, Jeff Davis of New Albany, Andy Davis of Myrtle; two
brothers, Milton Davis of Ripley, James Davis of Myrtle; two sisters,
Julia Ann Robertson of New Albany, Virginia Roberson of Memphis, Tenn.;
and three grandchildren.
Sammie L. Jones Sr.
Sammie
L. Jones Sr., 46, of Lansing, Mich., formerly of Holly Springs, died
Aug. 15, 2008 at Sparrow System-Sparrow Campus. He was employed as a
heating and cooling technician at A & D Heating and Cooling Systems.
He
leaves two sons, Sammie Jones Jr. of Norfolk, Va., Jamaal Jones of
Lansing; four stepchildren, Jerry Smith, Carman Teron, Heather
Halverson and Melton Smith, all of Lansing; nine sisters and brothers,
Dorothy Jeffries, Virginia Jeffries, Glenda Manning, all of Holly
Springs, Ardelia Johnson of Memphis, Tenn., Mae Glover of Aurora, Ill.,
Rev. Gifton Jones of Memphis, George Jones of Walls, James Jones of
Aurora, and Fred Jones of Round Lake, Ill.; and eight grandchildren.
