By BARRY BURLESON

They also knocked off non-division foe North Delta and improved to 16-3 overall.
“We’re getting closer to the playoffs, and we definitely need to be playing well,” said head coach Susan Rodgers. “Defensively, we played good last week. Offensively, we could use more hits, but we’re doing a better job of making contact.”

Casey Gibson pitched the win in game one. She struck out eight.
Heather Tomlinson and Mallory Covington each doubled. Tomlinson had two runs-batted-in. Traci Rodgers singled. Elizabeth Skelton added an RBI.
Pitcher Lauren Alexander struck out six in game two to earn the win.

Casey Gibson doubled. Adding a single each were Alexander, Courtney Gibson and Anna Roberts.
The Lady Patriots invaded Clarksdale August 26 and eased past the Lady Colts 10-0.
Alexander had a three-of-three performance at the plate – all singles. Tomlinson had a hit and three RBIs. Casey Gibson and Skelton had a hit each, and Courtney Gibson contributed an RBI.
“Most of our runs came off of errors,” Coach Rodgers said.
