| Deadline August 22 for Hummingbird Art Contest A Hummingbird Art Contest is being sponsored by Strawberry Plains Center and the Marshall County Library. Contest is open to all children ages 6 to 15. Prizes will be awarded in three age categories: 6 - 8, 9 - 11, and 12 - 15 year olds. Draw or paint your own original picture of the ruby-throated hummingbird. No coloring sheets please. Entries should be no larger than 8.5” x 11”. On the backside include your name, age, address and phone number. Entry deadline is Friday, Aug. 22. Awards will be presented by a special appearance from “Harry the Hummingbird” on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 4:30 p.m. at the Marshall County Library in Holly Springs. You must be present at the awards ceremony to win. Children submitting contest artwork will receive one ticket for free admission to Audubon’s Hummingbird Migration Celebration, September 5-7. All entries must be received no later than August 22.
